Installation view

Selecting paintings and drawings from the Art Gallery’s landscape collection (Gainsborough and Constable to the Boyle Family via Paul Nash and Jack Yeats) I attempted to trace the evolution of the figure in the landscape, an evolution that adds up to a history of walking.

This rehang was complemented by 1 audio, 1 text and 3 new video works offering contemporary interpretations of  themes in landscape history: the Walker, the Labyrinth and the View.
