Pennine Prospects’ press release on the Top Withins refurbishment work attracted a lot of attention, and on 15 December 2011 BBC Look North ran an item about the site with Robin Gray, myself and presenter Cathy Killick.
Four of us were wafted up onto Haworth Moor by Rick Hill in a Bradford Countryside Service Landrover, and from its cosy interior we watched a pair of short-eared owls hunting over the snowfields near Lower Withins. Cathy had just re-read Wuthering Heights after seeing the new film, and my photo shows her reading an extract to camera from her Kindle.
Top Withins also featured in Martin Wainwright’s Guardian blog ‘The Northerner’ on 16 December.
